Well in September Obama said he would do it and no one listened....Here it is and it is done with congress not stoppng it.Aren't we just proud..Not only do we slaughter babies here ,now we fund it with OUR TAX DOLLARS overseas .I don't know about you but I DO NOT want one penny i earn,or my family,to go towards killing a baby!!!!ADOPTION PEOPLE..NOT KILLING.I know sometimes a mothers health is at risk and rape. This is different,,,
But to do it just because you didn't do enough to prevent an unwanted pregnancy???NO....you may can justify that WITH YOUR MONEY,but not mine..This is wrong and we as a nation are going to pay with a lot of wrath from the father above for this..Just wait and see and pray that the wrath is not dropped on you...
And don't tell me i don't understand.I DO...i have a grandson in Heaven right now that would be 2 years old.But he was killed by abortion.I would have gladly raised him...he would have got hugs and loved all the time.He would have laughed and cried. He would have known his brothers and sister,His name is September. He was never given those chances..he was not given a choice. His mom,my daughter, made those choices for him..Because it was the easiest way...I love my daughter, always will..we are still close, even after this. But one day she will have to explain to her babies about a little boy named September,,Will they understand???I am so afraid they will not...Mom's you need to remember this. You can make the baby go away..but that act will remain.Sooner or later the decision will come back to you.Are you prepared for that time? My daughter is now wanting to be a sunday school teacher, loves kids, always has. That was not the reason for the abortion. She thought it was best because of a bad choice of whom she breed with.He was violent and threating as soon as he found out she was pregnant...So yes.decisions are hard..
But does that baby you have helped make deserve death?>>>>

President Obama didn't do it symbolically on the anniversary Thursday of the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion in the United States.
But today, he signed an executive order ending the ban on federal funds for international groups that promote or perform abortions.
The move reverses the rule put in place by the Bush administration. Republican and Democratic presidents have been changing the rule like a ping-pong ball.
Abortion rights groups, which supported Obama during the campaign with money and volunteers, have been pushing for the change in the policy, which bars US taxpayer money from going to international family planning groups that either offer abortions or provide information, counseling, or referrals about abortion.
Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, hailed the move.
“President Obama’s action today reinforces why elections matter and how new leadership can end divisive policies that harm women,” Keenan said in a statement . “Reversing this Bush-era policy means that the world’s poorest women may now have access to vital health services, from prenatal care to contraception. The president’s action today reflects the public’s call for a focus on commonsense, common-ground solutions that make a difference in the lives of women and their families.”
Senator John F. Kerry, the new chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, also applauded the change.
“I am glad that President Obama has moved so swiftly to lift the Global Gag Rule which has too long handcuffed our ability to provide aid around the world. Today's announcement is a very powerful signal to our neighbors around the world that the United States is once again back in the business of good public policy and ideology no longer blunts our ability to save lives around the globe," Kerry said in a statement.
“For too long, the Mexico City policy isolated the United States and limited our leadership. By tying the hands of global health providers, ideology trumped our capacity to provide effective family planning services and limited the scope of partners we could work with in the international community. It hindered the ability of NGOs to halt the spread of HIV/AIDS and denied contraceptives to families in the world’s poorest countries.”
UPDATE: This evening, the White House did issue a statement from Obama:
“It is clear that the provisions of the Mexico City Policy are unnecessarily broad and unwarranted under current law, and for the past eight years, they have undermined efforts to promote safe and effective voluntary family planning in developing countries. For these reasons, it is right for us to rescind this policy and restore critical efforts to protect and empower women and promote global economic development.
“For too long, international family planning assistance has been used as a political wedge issue, the subject of a back and forth debate that has served only to divide us. I have no desire to continue this stale and fruitless debate.
“It is time that we end the politicization of this issue. In the coming weeks, my Administration will initiate a fresh conversation on family planning, working to find areas of common ground to best meet the needs of women and families at home and around the world.
“I have directed my staff to reach out to those on all sides of this issue to achieve the goal of reducing unintended pregnancies. They will also work to promote safe motherhood, reduce maternal and infant mortality rates and increase educational and economic opportunities for women and girls.
“In addition, I look forward to working with Congress to restore U.S. financial support for the U.N. Population Fund. By resuming funding to UNFPA, the U.S. will be joining 180 other donor nations working collaboratively to reduce poverty, improve the health of women and children, prevent HIV/AIDS and provide family planning assistance to women in 154 countries.”

The Debate,Wall Street -Contest=Giveaways
Good morning!
How many are going to watch the debate tonight? I hope you do.This is such a crucial time to be deciding our next president. He will have such a mess to fix i am afraid.I heard a comment last night on the news, said people were very leery of wall street. The financial guru whom was speaking ,said ''no fear''. the old wall street we had is no more!Is that a good thing?Off the top of my head i would say ...YES! It is sad that we came to point that wall street could almost destroy us from within(with help of course) with predictions.....wall street was looking like an auction house for slaughter, only it wasn't beef being led in,it is our jobs, money, gas and futures...sad,sad...
Today, the moose-hunting mom is the most talked-about woman in the world,That would be Sarah Palin.Great to see a ''LADY'' being talked about ..;) I personally like the lady.I think she DOES have the capabilities to run the white house if needed. There is something about her that reminds me of princess Diana. We didn't all know her to begin with ,BUT the whole world fell in love with her within 10 years and i think Mrs. Sarah has the capabilities to make us all fall in love with her as well. She has good morals and values. She may not be the best speaker we have ever heard or best debater, but God knows we have had our share of them already and look at the mess we are in.So on that note i think we need some GOOD people in the white house and then some GOOD CONGRESSMEN (or ladies) to back them up.You know i can't help but look at what they stand for more than what they want. And i am sorry, but anyone who stands up and says that abortion should be ever woman's choice,IS NOT WHITE HOUSE MATERIAL ANYMORE...Look at it this way...If our leaders can not TRY to protect an innocent child, who has known no wrong,HOW CAN I DEPEND ON THEM TO Help ME? you can't.I know i stir a can of beans...But i would like to note this before i end my rambling today, just something to think about.
+++When we all stand before our Lord one day(and we will believe it or not),and the blood cries out to God of the 5,000,000 + unborn babies we in America alone have allowed to be slaughtered in the name of abortion,He may ask..Did you try to save even one of these? What will you say??? EVEN ONE???+++
You may not be able to stand on street corners, may not even know much about abortion, you may say i don't agree with it but it is their choice. But you know what?If you willingly vote someone in to run our country who says it is OK...You have agreed with them, and allowed another baby to be killed..Someone's grandchild, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, son or daughter.Think about that when you go to vote.I had this decision to make ,and for a while it was not easy this year. The country is in such distress right now,i am republican mentally, but if i know a democrat would lead better and have the morals our forefathers did i would vote for them. There were several MEN who were ''vice president possibilities'' for McCain, that in no way could i vote for them.Had they been chosen i would have had to write in a candidate..That really tore at me.The thought that i would have no say in it,broke my heart. But ALAS...Someone took that position that none ,mostly anyway, saw coming! After checking her out,i now can vote ,have a say,and believe in my heart i have done the right thing. I have told my son over and over,GOD ALWAYS GIVES A GOOD CHOICE,makes it fair..And he has.In the form of a Baby toting Momma from Alaska..
McCain/Palin..
ALL THE WAY!
That's the way is see it amidst our depression of 2008!!!!!We need some hero's and amongst the ruin they usually rise...God Bless The USA ....

IF YOU BOUGHT OR OWN A RECALLED LEARNING CURVE "THOMAS & FRIENDS WOODEN RAILWAY" TOY, YOU MAY HAVE A CLAIM TO RELIEF FROM A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT
NOTICE OF CLASS ACTION AND PROPOSED SETTLEMENT
IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS - COUNTY DEPARTMENT, CHANCERY DIVISION
Byron Barrett, et al. v. RC2 Corporation, Case No. 07 CH 20924
TO: All persons who purchased or otherwise acquired other than for resale any recalled Learning Curve Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway product in the U.S. (the “Settlement Class”).
If you purchased or own a recalled Learning Curve "THOMAS & FRIENDS WOODEN RAILWAY" TOY, you may be part of a class action settlement. As part of the settlement, you may be entitled to file a claim for money, toys, coupons or limited reimbursement for blood testing of your minor children. This Notice is just a summary. For more complete information, you should read the full Notice, which is available at
www.learningcurvesettlement.com or call Class Counsel at 866-541-0323.
WHAT IS THE CLASS ACTION ABOUT?
Plaintiff alleges that Defendant RC2 Corporation manufactured, distributed, sold, and marketed certain Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway toys which contained excessive levels of lead or heavy metals in surface paint and which were recalled in June and September of 2007.
WHAT ARE THE SETTLEMENT TERMS?
Under the terms of the Proposed Settlement, each Class Member may be eligible to receive a full refund of the purchase prices or Suggested Retail Prices of the recalled toys, or may exchange their toy for a replacement toy plus a bonus toy. If Class Members do not have proof of purchase and no longer possess their toys due to destruction, they may be eligible for a coupon towards the purchase of a new toy. Additionally, each Class Member that is entitled to receive a cash refund may also be eligible for reimbursement of a portion of the costs of blood lead tests conducted on their minor children as the result of alleged exposure. This settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing by any party. By preliminarily approving the settlement, the Court does not suggest that blood lead testing was either necessary or adequate medical care for your children. Please consult your physician should you feel other medical care may be necessary for your children.
WHO REPRESENTS ME?
The Court has appointed attorneys to represent the Class. Class Counsel will request the Court award attorneys’ fees and expenses in an amount not to exceed $2,950,000. However, you will be responsible for that attorney’s fees and expenses.
WHAT ARE MY LEGAL RIGHTS?

• If you wish to file a claim, you must complete a Claim Form. You can get a Claim Form by calling the toll-free number or visiting the Settlement Website. Claim Forms must be signed and postmarked no later than October 6, 2008.

THE HONORABLE JUDGE WILLIAM O. MAKI
CIRCUIT COURT OF COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS
If approved by the Court, this amount will be paid directly by Defendant to Class Counsel. You may hire your own attorney, if you wish. However, you will be responsible for that attorney’s fees and expenses.
WHAT ARE MY LEGAL RIGHTS?
• If you wish to remain a member of the Settlement Class, you do not have to do anything. But, to obtain the benefits described above, you must file a claim. If the Court approves the Proposed Settlement, you will be bound by all the Court’s orders. This means you will drop any claims you may have against Defendants covered by the Settlement regardless of whether you file a claim or not.
• If you wish to file a claim, you must complete a Claim Form. You can get a Claim Form by calling the toll-free number or visiting the Settlement Website. Claim Forms must be signed and postmarked no later than October 6, 2008.
• If you do not wish to be a member of the Settlement Class, you must file a letter with the Clerk of the Court no later than July 21, 2008 advising the Court you wish to be excluded and list the case name and number above. If you request to be excluded from the Settlement Class you cannot make a claim.
•You can tell the Court if you do not like this Proposed Settlement or some part of it if you do not exclude yourself. To object or comment, you must file your objection or comments in writing to the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, Daley Center, 50 W. Washington, Chicago, Illinois, 60602 on or before July 21, 2008 and include the name and number of the case, your name and address, and if you are objecting you must submit proof of class membership and a statement of the reasons why you believe that the Court should find that the proposed settlement is not in the best interests of the class. POST PARTUM DEPRESSION...

How Depressing: It's a Boy
Study examines whether a child's gender factors into postpartum depression
By Lisa Farino for MSN Health & Fitness
Depression is one of the most common postpartum medical problems that new moms face. New research suggests that the risk is even higher for those who give birth to boys.
Most moms will readily admit that rambunctious little boys are a bit more challenging to parent than little girls, who are generally quieter and less physically active. But the impacts of gender on parenting don’t necessarily start once the little ones start toddling.
New research out of France found that women who gave birth to boys were significantly more likely to suffer from severe postpartum depression than women who gave birth to girls. The findings weren't limited to severe depression: Women who gave birth to boys were also much more likely to report a lower quality of life than women who gave birth to girls.
This study, published in the Journal of Clinical Nursing, is the first to examine the impact of infant gender on postpartum depression for women in a Western country. Previous studies in China, Turkey, and India, found that rates of postpartum depression were higher among women who had given birth to girls. Researchers suspect the findings reflect the strong cultural preference for boys over girls in these countries.
But not everyone is convinced that the study really sheds new light on postpartum depression, which is estimated to afflict roughly 10% of new mothers in the United States. For starters, the research was conducted only on French women, whose social and cultural reality may be significantly different from that of women in the United States.
More importantly, it’s possible that the findings are just a statistical quirk since the study was conducted on a very small group of women.
“We’re talking about a very tiny sample size,” says Dr. Gail Robinson, a psychiatry professor at the University of Toronto’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. “There were only 17 mothers with severe depression and 13 had boys. A study with such small numbers doesn’t prove anything.”
Why Mothers of Boys Might Be More Depressed
The French research team didn't set out to determine why women giving birth to boys might be more likely to suffer from postpartum depression. In fact, when they started the study, there was no reason to believe that the baby’s gender would influence maternal depression, since there’s no cultural bias in France for babies of one gender over the other.
Once they noticed a trend, however, the researchers did speculate about why mothers of infant boys might be more depressed.
Are infant boys more difficult to care for than girls?
Lead researcher Claude de Tychey, professor of clinical Psychology at Universite Nancy, cites studies showing that infant boys are “more irritable and more difficult to soothe” than infant girls.
Robinson agrees with this assessment. "At birth, girls are more neurologically developed than boys,” she says. “This can make it trickier to care for an infant boy—they're not as settled and are more likely to keep you up at night."
Do women prefer daughters to sons?
No one asked these women what gender of baby they had hoped for, information that would have been useful in teasing out the reasons for the study’s findings, as well as perhaps more clearly identifying who’s at risk.
Nonetheless, de Tychey speculates that women (at least in France) may prefer daughters to sons.
One of his theories: the growing narcissism of the modern world is leading new moms to desire mini-me’s (that is, girls) instead of boys. Therefore, when a woman doesn’t get the gender of child she desired, she is more likely to suffer from decreased quality of life or severe depression.
De Tychey’s psychoanalysis may strike Americans as a bit far-fetched. But you don't need to buy into the psychology of narcissism to suspect that women in Western countries (especially American women) may actually have a preference for girls. Take overseas adoptions by Americans, a process that’s typically driven by women. Overwhelmingly, adoption agencies report that adoptive parents declare a preference for a female child.

How to Spot Postpartum Depression
Whether your baby is a boy or a girl, postpartum depression is a common problem for new moms—and it’s a serious condition that requires medical attention. Unfortunately, it can be a bit tricky to recognize and diagnose. Some typical symptoms of depression—like trouble sleeping through the night, difficulty concentrating and loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities—can simply seem like symptoms of being a new mom.
Here are some key warning signs that you may have postpartum depression:
High levels of anxiety
Failure to bond with the child
Feeling guilty about not being a good mother, wishing you hadn't had the child or being afraid that you will hurt the child
Not sleeping well, even when there is someone else looking after the baby
The lack of any happy moments amidst the chaos of new motherhood. Being a mom to a new infant is often a tiring and frustrating task, says Robinson, but there should be times when you feel better. “When they’ve gotten some sleep and friends are visiting and the baby is bathed and cooing, moms should feel good,” she says. “If a woman feels crummy even when everything else is going well, there’s a problem.”
Unfortunately, some doctors will simply write off a woman’s symptoms as part of being a new mother, says Dr. Catherine Birndorf, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Obstetrics & Gynecology at The New York Presbyterian Hospital. “If in your gut you know what you’re feeling is not right, make sure you find someone who listens to you.”
If you suspect you have postpartum depression and are having difficulty finding the appropriate medical professional, Birndorf recommends contacting Postpartum Support International. They can help put women in touch with local medical professionals who are experienced in treating postpartum depression.
Treating Postpartum Depression
Mild cases of postpartum depression can be treated with cognitive behavioral therapy, says Robinson. Many women can benefit from getting additional help—someone to assist with chores around the house and/or someone to watch the child while she gets some much-needed sleep.
For more serious cases or for women who don't respond to these treatments, antidepressants can be an important part of healing.
“A lot of women say they don’t want to seek help because they don’t want to stop breastfeeding,” says Birndorf. “But it’s not true that you can’t take medication when you’re breastfeeding. Nothing is absolutely safe, but there are certainly antidepressants that are more safe than others and are less detectable in breast milk.”
According to Robinson, the risks can be even further minimized with some simple changes. First, a woman can take a pill right after she breast-feeds, giving it time to work through her system before the next time she breast-feeds. Second, she can express her hind milk before each breast-feeding.
More importantly, Robinson stresses that failure to treat postpartum depression poses very real risks to both mothers and babies. “Mothers who don't get treatment are less likely to eat properly and less likely to bond with their baby. They are also more likely to neglect the baby and abuse

Health Tip: Postpartum Depression
What may be behind unhappy feelings after giving birth
-- Diana Kohnle
(HealthDay News) - Depression that follows the birth of a baby is common, as new moms are overwhelmed by the changes in their bodies and routines.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services offers this list of reasons for why postpartum depression affects some new mothers:
New moms can suffer from lack of sleep after the baby's birth, which can lead to fatigue, stress and depression.
New moms can feel overwhelmed by all of the new things to do, and by other changes in their lives. They may even feel unsure of their parenting skills.
New moms may set unrealistic expectations for themselves.
New moms have less time for themselves, with their partners, and less time to do what they want.

When To Call a Doctor WITH POST PARTUM DEPRESSION
From Healthwise
Call 911 or other emergency services if you think you cannot keep from harming yourself, your baby, or another person. You can also call the national suicide hotline, National Hopeline Network, at 1-800-784-2433 or the National Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-422-4453.
Call your health professional immediately if:
You are not having symptoms of postpartum depression (listed below), but you have hallucinations involving smell, touch, hearing, or sight or have thoughts that may not be based in reality (delusions). Examples of delusions are fears that someone is watching you, stealing from you, or reading your mind.
You have severe symptoms of postpartum depression.
You have any symptoms of depression and have had depression or postpartum depression before.
You have had any symptoms of depression for longer than 2 weeks. You don't necessarily have all possible symptoms when you have depression. Call sooner rather than later, before your condition gets worse.
Symptoms of postpartum depression include:
Depressed mood—tearfulness, hopelessness, and feeling empty inside, with or without severe anxiety.
Loss of pleasure in either all or almost all of your daily activities.
Appetite and weight change—usually a drop in appetite and weight, but sometimes the opposite.
Sleep problems—usually trouble with sleeping, even when your baby is sleeping.
Noticeable change in how you walk and talk—usually restlessness, but sometimes sluggishness.
Extreme fatigue or loss of energy.
Feelings of worthlessness or guilt, with no reasonable cause.
Difficulty concentrating and making decisions.
Thoughts about death or suicide. Some women with PPD have fleeting, frightening thoughts of harming their babies: these tend to be fearful thoughts, rather than urges to harm.
Watchful Waiting
If your symptoms are new and not severe, you can wait up to 2 weeks to see if they will go away. Otherwise, call your doctor as soon as you notice symptoms. The earlier you are treated, the more quickly you will recover, and the less your baby's development will be affected by your condition.5
Who To See
Your obstetrician may be the first health professional to note and diagnose PPD. This is one of many reasons why it's important to have a medical check 3 to 6 weeks after childbirth. Treatment for PPD ideally involves both medication and some form of professional counseling. To effectively treat depression, it's important that you and your counselor have a comfortable relationship.
Diagnosis and medication management of postpartum depression can be provided by a:
General practitioner.
Family doctor.
Psychiatrist.
Physician assistant.
Nurse practitioner.
Professional counseling can be provided by a:
Psychologist.
Social worker.
Licensed professional counselor.
Psychiatrist (all prescribe medication; many also provide counseling).
