Prayers Please....

Hello friends,
I went and visited with my longest enduring friend(since i was 17) this evening.His name is Jim Jackson.He is only 50 years old and dying of lung cancer.He is a very strong person and has 2 little grand kids under the age of 6,whom he truly hates to be leaving if the good lord does not intervene.He is in very bad shape now,oxygen tank runs constantly and he can only speak in whispers.He has caught pneumonia as well,so congestion is a problem also.He is assured of his heavenly home so that part is wonderful.His desire to stay with the grands is very strong.He has been given pain meds but he still refuses them because he says they make him feel bad and nauseous to him.He is on antibiotics and also is suppose to be taking med that cost 800.00 a month!It is totally ridiculous for this to be like this for the terminal!Totally stupid....
He has asked for every ones prayers ,so i ask you please to remember Jim and his grand kids and daughter in this horrible testing time for them..please add them to your prayers.They need them now more than ever.And i also ask you to pray for his sense of peace over his grand babies,,,so he can be at peace now....

also please remember my friends Linda(lung cancer at 45) and Charles(bone cancer at 51).i thank you so very very much..will keep you updated...

May God Bless us and keep His angels

Governor Saves Pro-Life Program

Governor Saves Pro-Life Program
Paul Steven Ghiringhelli News - Featured News
Florida Gov. Charlie Crist salvaged a state-run crisis pregnancy program this week.

Jan. 29, 2009 -- Florida Gov. Charlie Crist saved a state-run crisis pregnancy program this week by vetoing spending cuts that were a part of a $1.2 billion budget cut. His decision was announced at a news conference Tuesday.

The action came after intensive lobbying by several pro-life legislators who were concerned about major cuts to the $2 million budget of the Florida Pregnancy Support Services Program's (FPSSP). While the legislators were able to save part of the program's money, Crist's line-item veto had the effect of restoring all of its original funding.

"The governor did veto the reduction ... because he feels it is important to continue to provide support for women facing these decisions," said Sterling Ivey, spokesman for Gov. Crist. "The governor also believes it is important to protect and safeguard the health care of those in most need of health services."

The man behind the scenes lobbying for the FPSSP's survival was freshman representative Scott Plakon, who had run on a pro-life platform. Chris Dorworth, a fellow lawmaker of Plakon's who also lobbied for the program, admired Plakon's commitment to the issue.

"The neat thing for me was to watch somebody get elected for whom social issues were of utmost importance, and the very first week he does something so impactful," Dorworth said. "Hundreds of lives will be saved and babies will be born that would not have been."

While Dorworth partially credits Plakon for keeping the crisis pregnancy program alive, Plakon sees his own influence in the bigger picture as limited. He expressed immense gratitude for the governor's decision in addition to the help of others.

"This is unusual for this to happen this way," Plakon acknowledged. "I appreciate the effort and support that chairman Dean Cannon and so many other House leaders put forth in making sure that innocent human life was protected in Florida."

Susan Grimsley, executive director of the Florida Pregnancy Care Network which administers the FPSSP, said the governor's actions, those who supported his veto, and Plakon's "tireless work," all worked together for the good. "We are thrilled," Grimsley said, "and consider this nothing short of a miracle. It is heartening to know that this program, which provides vital assistance to needy pregnant women, will continue to serve this vulnerable population."

The counseling and support services of the FPSSP solely promote and encourage childbirth.

Dorworth said one reason some Florida lawmakers wanted to abolish the program was partially due to a state senator incorrectly describing the FPSSP to other members as "an abstinence program." "It was in that context of-‘We're firing teachers, yet we're going to continue to finance some abstinence program,'" that lawmakers decided to cut the FPSSP budget in half, which would've effectively shut it down, Dorworth said.

Among all U.S. states, Florida's state-run crisis pregnancy program is fairly unique. If the FPSSP had been abolished, it would've shut down invaluable services to roughly 15,000 would-be mothers a year, Plakon said.

If a young woman is pregnant, wavering and scared, "if [she has] concerns about what the future holds, worried about what [her] parents are going to think, [about her] work situation-having someone to talk to can make the difference, because sometimes they don't have anyone they can call for advice," Dorworth said.

He added: "At the end of the day, you're left to represent your own values and your constituents and that comes above all else."

Obama , tax dollars and Abortion ! This is Too much

Well in September Obama said he would do it and no one listened....Here it is and it is done with congress not stoppng it.Aren't we just proud..Not only do we slaughter babies here ,now we fund it with OUR TAX DOLLARS overseas .I don't know about you but I DO NOT want one penny i earn,or my family,to go towards killing a baby!!!!ADOPTION PEOPLE..NOT KILLING.I know sometimes a mothers health is at risk and rape.This is different,,,
But to do it just because you didn't do enough to prevent an unwanted pregnancy???NO....you may can justify that WITH YOUR MONEY,but not mine..This is wrong and we as a nation are going to pay with a lot of wrath from the father above for this..Just wait and see and pray that the wrath is not dropped on you...
And don't tell me i don't understand.I DO...i have a grandson in Heaven right now that would be 2 years old.But he was killed by abortion.I would have gladly raised him...he would have got hugs and loved all the time.He would have laughed and cried.He would have known his brothers and sister,His name is September.He was never given those chances..he was not given a choice.His mom,my daughter,made those choices for him..Because it was the easiest way...I love my daughter,always will..we are still close,even after this.But one day she will have to explain to her babies about a little boy named September,,Will they understand???I am so afraid they will not...Mom's you need to remember this.You can make the baby go away..but that act will remain.Sooner or later the decision will come back to you.Are you prepared for that time? My daughter is now wanting to be a sunday school teacher,loves kids,always has.That was not the reason for the abortion.She thought it was best because of a bad choice of whom she breed with.He was violent and threating as soon as he found out she was pregnant...So yes.decisions are hard..
But does that baby you have helped make deserve death?>>>>

President Obama didn't do it symbolically on the anniversary Thursday of the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion in the United States.

But today, he signed an executive order ending the ban on federal funds for international groups that promote or perform abortions.

The move reverses the rule put in place by the Bush administration. Republican and Democratic presidents have been changing the rule like a ping-pong ball.

Abortion rights groups, which supported Obama during the campaign with money and volunteers, have been pushing for the change in the policy, which bars US taxpayer money from going to international family planning groups that either offer abortions or provide information, counseling, or referrals about abortion.

Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, hailed the move.

“President Obama’s action today reinforces why elections matter and how new leadership can end divisive policies that harm women,” Keenan said in a statement . “Reversing this Bush-era policy means that the world’s poorest women may now have access to vital health services, from prenatal care to contraception. The president’s action today reflects the public’s call for a focus on commonsense, common-ground solutions that make a difference in the lives of women and their families.”

Senator John F. Kerry, the new chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, also applauded the change.

“I am glad that President Obama has moved so swiftly to lift the Global Gag Rule which has too long handcuffed our ability to provide aid around the world. Today's announcement is a very powerful signal to our neighbors around the world that the United States is once again back in the business of good public policy and ideology no longer blunts our ability to save lives around the globe," Kerry said in a statement.

“For too long, the Mexico City policy isolated the United States and limited our leadership. By tying the hands of global health providers, ideology trumped our capacity to provide effective family planning services and limited the scope of partners we could work with in the international community. It hindered the ability of NGOs to halt the spread of HIV/AIDS and denied contraceptives to families in the world’s poorest countries.”

UPDATE: This evening, the White House did issue a statement from Obama:

“It is clear that the provisions of the Mexico City Policy are unnecessarily broad and unwarranted under current law, and for the past eight years, they have undermined efforts to promote safe and effective voluntary family planning in developing countries. For these reasons, it is right for us to rescind this policy and restore critical efforts to protect and empower women and promote global economic development.

“For too long, international family planning assistance has been used as a political wedge issue, the subject of a back and forth debate that has served only to divide us. I have no desire to continue this stale and fruitless debate.

“It is time that we end the politicization of this issue. In the coming weeks, my Administration will initiate a fresh conversation on family planning, working to find areas of common ground to best meet the needs of women and families at home and around the world.

“I have directed my staff to reach out to those on all sides of this issue to achieve the goal of reducing unintended pregnancies. They will also work to promote safe motherhood, reduce maternal and infant mortality rates and increase educational and economic opportunities for women and girls.

“In addition, I look forward to working with Congress to restore U.S. financial support for the U.N. Population Fund. By resuming funding to UNFPA, the U.S. will be joining 180 other donor nations working collaboratively to reduce poverty, improve the health of women and children, prevent HIV/AIDS and provide family planning assistance to women in 154 countries.”

Tuesday Giveaways , recipes and Stimulus checks

Are you staying warm friends?I do hope so.The fireplace is working wonders this morning.What are your thoughts on the $1,000.00 Stimulus package for families next month? My thought is that it is tax time already now.A lot of people will be getting a little help at this time already,and with stimulus checks mainly going to these same anyway,WHY DO IT NOW????In other words,say a family of 4 is getting a check for several thousand dollars already,if that don't help at this time just adding a little to it won't either.Save the stimulus package let's say,for like mid summer when no one is getting a little extra income...Just does not make sense to me..Well spending millions and millions of dollars on the inauguration yesterday made no sence to me either.I am all for celebrating our new president ,but for a nation to be in the shape we are now and spending like that!WAY OVERBOARD when we are in a recession!Heck just the money blew yesterday in Washington could have funded a HUGE part of that stimulus package,,,
Anyway........I am adding a few homemade recipes below.Try them sometime and let me know how they worked out and as usual giveaways around bloggvile will be added at bottom throughout the day as i can add them.Got too get some cleaning done and clothes washed hopefully today ,good lord's will.My brother dang near took his hand off the other day with a skill saw redoing my mom's bathroom.It jumped out and went through his land hand.Tearing the meat and a big peice of bone was destoyed as well.Had to have reconstructive surgery just so he would not loose all use of hand.He work's with his hands so that would not be good at all.Say a prayer for him if you would ,he is in a lot of pain with it,swelled very bad.Don't forget to pray for our new president.

If you have not already head over to my SIMPLY SOUTHERN-giveaway post and get entered in.YOU CAN COME BACK DAILY AND GAIN SEVERAL NEW ENTRIES.some have emailed confused on this.Each day you twitter or blog it,leave me a comment and u are entered again.Each time you make a comment on any post,it is a new entry,just mention ''extra entry'' or something close...
A new item will be added today as well.. ;)

Have a great day and may God bless us all..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Old Fashion Red Velvet Cake~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ingredients: Frosting:
1-1/2 cups milk
5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
1-1/2 cups butter, softened (or stick margarine, but no diet)
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Cake:
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa
4 tablespoons red food coloring
1 cup buttermilk
2 1/4 cups sifted cake flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
To begin frosting: Place milk in saucepan and slowly whisk in flour. Stir over medium heat until quite thick. Chill until cold. Do this step first and prepare cake while it chills.
To make cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans; set aside. In a small bowl, mix vinegar and baking soda, set aside. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat shortening, sugar, eggs and salt until fluffy. In a separate small bowl, mix cocoa and red food coloring; then add to shortening mixture and mix thoroughly. Add buttermilk alternately with cake flour; beat. Gently mix in the vanilla and reserved vinegar mixture. Pour batter into prepared cake pans. Bake 30 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from oven, cool on cake racks.
To finish frosting: Use an electric mixer to beat the sugar, butter and vanilla until very light, 5 to 10 minutes. Add the cooled flour- milk mixture. When cake layers are cool, split each layer horizontally. Place one split layer on a plate and frost with 1/4- to 1/2-inch frosting. Top with second cake layer; repeat frosting. Top with third layer, and repeat frosting. Add top layer; frost side of cake first, then frost top with remaining frosting.
Lets stop it with Racism-Obama prooved it is over...except for american indians
Hello readers..
Hope you are staying warm this week!I am soooooo ready for spring.Don't forget to enter my giveaways,links are on the side...Comment,comment...
ok,,i have been watching ,or the tv is on anyway,the inauguration all day.I am adding my thoughts on this and we all have one and the great thing about america is we can speak our minds,Well most times anyway.I do believe this is just too much with our economy being the way it is.Now i know this is a great day.For some people it means more than others,BUT....we are in a recession(DEPRESSSION) now and this is overboard.The money that has been wasted here today could have bailed America out of a few of the problems we have.This is a scary way to begin the new presidency...blowing billions of dollars for a few hours!I don't care what color a man or woman is as long as they do their job.I do pray Obama can pull us out of this mess.But i think a lot of support is wagering on color alone.That is never a good thing.We are all one....United...This has proven it more than ever before.Racism is not a problem,no more than being a woman/man ...In some ways we all suffer.For one reason or another.We can't scream this anymore.We,as a nation,one voice,have voted in a black man.Awesome!Now let's get past all this stuff i continue daily to hear on tv about racism....There are going to be a few jerks anywhere..cant stop that,never will..SO LET US MOVE ON .......
If anyone is being hurt now it is still the American Indians.They are the ones we slaughtered and stole land from...They remain mainly silent...Have you been to a reservation lately?If not you should visit!!!!Most still do not have what they need to get by...expecially the young and old..Very few jobs if any besides the casinos...AND WE ALL HURT THEM...TRIED TO WIPE THEM OUT...you rarely ever hear anything about this..Do we have a national holiday for them????paid holidays????NONE!!!!!! and the reason???maybe some of you could enlighten me on that one....
Until then..i am so tired of hearing racism,,,,let us stop this...Obama prooved it is done......
Do your Kids Play Outside?Giveaway growing!
Parents Urged to Let Children Play Outside
Morning readers!
I do hope you are all entering my giveaway!Details and link are on the right of page..Please take a moment to give me your thoughts on this article as well.I do appreciate it.How do you feel about your kids being outdoors?Are they allowed too?Or is there even any ''outdoors'' where you live that is safe?That is a problem that faces a lot of children now.There is no safe play area to learn in,and the psycho predators that linger there to hurt children.Not a lot of families live in rural areas where kids are actually allowed to ''run free'' anymore.I am lucky i do live in the country.The kids are allowed to have run of the yard and billy is adventuring farther and farther out now at 6.He and kolby(3&1/2) loves climbing trees,digging holes,riding stick horses,jumping off small hills,just being boys.I do not bother trying to drees them up each day,they have more play clothes than anything.They have ''yard toys'' on one end of the yard ,that is their area.Might call it their gathering space.Everything goes here from bikes to sticks,(not meaning that they stay there.lol..)The yard certainly isn't manicured,just kid friendly and fun..What yard's use to be.
They enjoy watching wildlife,feeding pets,walking,and making mud pies. ;)
Here is a post i found this morning i wanted to share.Please leave me your thoughts on this.good and bad..remember if you mention in your comments about my giveaway you are entered again!Just make sure you go to original post to get the rules!!!!The giveaway box is growing so comment away!Here is the link to my giveaway.
American children are spending more and more of their leisure time indoors -- watching TV, playing video games and chatting with friends on line. That concerns many child development experts and others who would rather encourage them to be outside hiking, climbing trees, riding bikes and watching birds. They want to end children's alienation from nature, and what they believe are the adverse effects on child development. "I grew up in a pretty large family, having six older brothers and sisters. All I did was play outside," says Olympic gold medal soccer player Abby Wambach. "My parents helped out in that arena. They locked the door on us; they told us you couldn't come back until dinnertime. So, I pretty much spent my life outdoors."Even if playing outside doesn't lead to a gold medal, Darell Hammond says it is important for a child's physical and mental development."Playing outside helps release endorphins in your body that motivate you," he says. "It gives you sensory experiences around touch, smell and sight."Hammond is Co-Founder of KaBoom!, a non-profit that is working to build a playground within walking distance of every child in America."When walking through the woods, it actually helps your balance because it's not like walking on a sidewalk that may be 100 percent flat." Walking across "different types of land increases your heart rate," he says. When children play in nature, whether it's in a wooded park or a playground, Hammond says they tend to invent their own games and are more likely to play collectively. "When kids get outside, their activity runs wild."Unfortunately, he says, children don't play outside today as often as they did three decades ago, because "parents are busier; kids are more over scheduled." Children are spending more time after school in highly structured activities, playing organized sports or attending music and art classes. During school vacations, they are usually busy at summer camp.
Author Richard Louv says playing outside is the answer to childhood obesity.Musician Chuck Leavell wants children to appreciate nature Writer and outdoor advocate Richard Louv says when children have free time at home, they are more likely to stay inside, because there might not be a nearby park or even a sidewalk."Even when you have a sidewalk, for example, there is more and more traffic. That's a legitimate fear," he says. In recent decades, Louv notes, the fear that a stranger will abduct or harm a child has accelerated greatly in the United States and other countries.In his book, Last Child In The Woods, Louv says children's alienation from nature causes what he calls "nature deficit disorder," although he is careful to point out that "nature deficit disorder is not a medical diagnosis. "Perhaps it should, but it is not. It's a societal problem," he says. "It's the society that gets in the way of kids going outside and playing in nature."Louv says playing outside is the answer to America's child obesity problem as well as many other childhood disorders. "For example, studies of Attention Deficit Disorder being done in the University of Illinois show that kids with those symptoms, the symptoms get much better with just a little bit of contact with nature in kids as young as 5 years old," he says.Experiencing nature through outdoor play is also the best school for tomorrow's environmentalists, according to musician Chuck Leavell, author of the children's book, Tree Farmer. "It you ask little Johnny where the guitar comes from, he's likely to tell you from the music store," he says. "In fact the guitar comes from a resource of wood. So we want to get these young minds thinking about nature, about how bio-diversity works together. You want to plant this seed and you want to let this see grow and flourish."To get children outdoors, and back to nature, Richard Louv advocates a comprehensive approach. "Parents, grandparents, aunts,uncles and other adults, we need to take kids outdoors ourselves," he says.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 8, 2009
Release #09-086 CPSC Recall Hotline: (800) 638-2772
CPSC Media Contact: (301) 504-7908
CPSC Clarifies Requirements of New Children’s Product Safety Laws Taking Effect in February
Guidance Intended for Resellers of Children’s Products, Thrift and Consignment Stores
WASHINGTON, D.C. - In February 2009, new requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) take effect. Manufacturers, importers and retailers are expected to comply with the new Congressionally-mandated laws. Beginning February 10, 2009, children’s products cannot be sold if they contain more than 600 parts per million (ppm) total lead. Certain children’s products manufactured on or after February 10, 2009 cannot be sold if they contain more than 0.1% of certain specific phthalates or if they fail to meet new mandatory standards for toys.
Under the new law, children’s products with more than 600 ppm total lead cannot lawfully be sold in the United States on or after February 10, 2009, even if they were manufactured before that date. The total lead limit drops to 300 ppm on August 14, 2009.
The new law requires that domestic manufacturers and importers certify that children’s products made after February 10 meet all the new safety standards and the lead ban. Sellers of used children’s products, such as thrift stores and consignment stores, are not required to certify that those products meet the new lead limits, phthalates standard or new toy standards.
The new safety law does not require resellers to test children’s products in inventory for compliance with the lead limit before they are sold. However, resellers cannot sell children’s products that exceed the lead limit and therefore should avoid products that are likely to have lead content, unless they have testing or other information to indicate the products being sold have less than the new limit. Those resellers that do sell products in violation of the new limits could face civil and/or criminal penalties.
When the CPSIA was signed into law on August 14, 2008, it became unlawful to sell recalled products. All resellers should check the CPSC Web site (www.cpsc.gov) for information on recalled products before taking into inventory or selling a product. The selling of recalled products also could carry civil and/or criminal penalties.
While CPSC expects every company to comply fully with the new laws resellers should pay special attention to certain product categories. Among these are recalled children’s products, particularly cribs and play yards; children’s products that may contain lead, such as children’s jewelry and painted wooden or metal toys; flimsily made toys that are easily breakable into small parts; toys that lack the required age warnings; and dolls and stuffed toys that have buttons, eyes, noses or other small parts that are not securely fastened and could present a choking hazard for young children.
The agency has underway a number of rulemaking proposals intended to provide guidance on the new lead limit requirements. Please visit the CPSC website at cpscfor more information.
The CPSC's work to ensure the safety of consumer products - such as toys, cribs, power tools, cigarette lighters, and household chemicals - contributed significantly to the decline in the rate of deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past 30 years.
Homemade Bath Crayons
Ingredients:
1 bar Ivory soap
Warm water
Food coloring
Instructions:
Grate the bar of soap. You'll need about 1 cup of soap shavings. I use Ivory because it's very mild. It's what Grace's dermatologist recommended, and it's what we use at home. Unfortunately, there isn't a short cut to the grating, unless you use a food processor. You can't use detergent or powdered soap. They're too harsh.
Add food coloring and warm water, a few tablespoons at a time, to the soap shavings and mix until it forms a thick dough. You can add more water or soap shavings to get the right consistency.
Once the dough is firm, you can shape it into crayons by hand or press it into candy molds. I made ours into little cigars so that they'd be easy for Grace to handle.
At this point, you can leave the crayons out to dry and harden. Amy from MomAdvice puts hers in the freezer for 10 minutes or so, and then leaves them out to dry after that.
Notes:
You probably want to test the crayons on your bathtub and other surfaces before you unleash the children with them. Make sure they rinse off.
Ditto with your skin. I learned that one for you.
I found some neon food coloring at my grocery store that is splendid. I love it.
If you want to make your crayons different colors (as opposed to all one color as in the instructions above), you can separate the soap shavings into smaller chunks, and mix each with water and food coloring to get the right consistency.
If you're interested, you can get real crayon-shaped molds at the craft store.
When you're all done, take some pictures! I'd love to see them.
Stimulus Package Needed, But Won’t End It~ Blogger Giveaways
Good Afternoon Friends,
Well i took a load of stuff up to julie and darrell's,afterwards i went to the Dr. with Rita to carry Kolby.They seem to think he has add.He is 3 and 1/2 now.He is very loud and sometimes a littl out of control.He almost demands your attention and he is real bad at it with his mom.There is more but that is another story.lol
Br. Bhang put him on a light med just to see if it helps,said it would help him sleep better too..so we shall see.Neither of us like the idea of medding him up and we won't but maybe it will help a little before he gets older and it is worse.Keep Kolby in your prayers if you would.i do thank you.
Found this nfo on the stimulus package ,i thought i'd share with you.What do you think about this?
have a great night,giveaway listings on bottom!Thanks for the comments and emails..thanks to you followers as well...;)
Today Ben Bernanke talked about the stimulus package currently being discussed by President-elect Obama and his incoming administration. He believes it will help, but that it won’t be enough to bring a lasting recovery. From the International Herald Tribune:
The chairman of the Federal Reserve, Ben Bernanke, said Tuesday that the fiscal stimulus package currently being discussed by the incoming U.S. administration would help revive the economy but would not be enough to bring a lasting recovery.
“Fiscal actions are unlikely to promote a lasting recovery unless they are accompanied by strong measures to further stabilize and strengthen the financial system,” Bernanke said in a speech at the London School of Economics. “A modern economy cannot grow if its financial system is not operating effectively.”
Bernanke said the Federal Reserve still has “powerful tools” at its disposal to stem the financial crisis even after lowering its benchmark interest rate virtually to zero in December.
The economic outlook has continued to worsen even after the Treasury’s injection of about $250 billion into the banking sector, and Bernanke said that more capital injections and guarantees might become necessary.
He also outlined several options to help financial institutions with their troubled and hard-to-value assets, which continue to be a barrier to improving private investment flows.
Among the options, he mentioned the public purchase of troubled assets, providing asset guarantees and the creation of a so-called bad bank.
Bernanke reiterated the need for “stronger supervisory and regulatory systems,” while being careful not to introduce rules that would “forfeit economic benefits of financial innovation and market discipline.”
Is it just me or do these guys all sound like they’re really not sure what to do to turn things around? Are they just trying a bit of this, and a bit of that - hoping that something will stick? That’s the feeling I’m getting.
On Monday, In his final news conference before leaving office, President Bush defended the stimulus package as necessary:
President Bush stood by his decision to support the U.S. Treasury Department’s injection of billions of dollars into the economy to unfreeze the financial markets.
Our final winner of the 12 Days of Christmas giveaway series will receive a copy of Ralphina, the Roly-Poly(value $24.95). No, not Rolie Polie Olie, this is a story about another kind of Roly Poly my kids love -- the real kind.
Did you know that roly-poly bugs are part of the crustacean family? Or that they breathe through gills? These are just some of the fun roly-poly facts I learned when I read Ralphina, The Roly-Poly, a charmingly illustrated book by artist and former teacher Claudia Chandler.ends jan 18th
As a parent of a toddler who is in the beginning phases of potty training, I know that the day I throw away that last diaper will be a celebration in our household. I’m going to throw a party for my husband and I when we make it through to the other side. Someone once told me that everybody they’ve ever known is potty trained, which means that our chances of being successful with our son are pretty much guaranteed. In February, I’ll be starting a new series on potty training. Some of you may look with anticipation, while others may dread this developmental stage. Come back starting February 2 for articles, tips, interviews, product picks and giveaways.
Spread the word and gain up to 2 extra entries for each giveaway. You can place the cute little button hubby made on your blog through February 6 and/or tweet about the event. Be sure to place the permalink of your blog (or blog post) and/or tweet in the Mister Linky below. If you have any questions, feel free to email me
