So much worry and stress now in a lot of people.Folks wondering if they can get healthcare,medicines,insurance.Hey and that did not just start.This has been getting worse and worse since NATO....and that was not the Bush administration....Way before that!!!!! First of all, don't wait to run out of medication before doing something about it! Your first line of defense is to let your doctor know. He has no idea whether or not you have insurance unless you tell him. Your doctor has several ways of helping in such a situation. He usually has a supply of “sample” medications to help you in the short term and can access longer-term free medication for you through the pharmaceutical industry. Not having money to pay for medication is a poor excuse for not taking it.

Remaining compliant to your medication regime is the most powerful road to mood stability.

The key to healthy aging is living a healthier lifestyle now. SenioRx/Wellness teaches you about healthy eating habits, proper exercise and chronic illness management.

SenioRx/Wellness is for ALL Alabamians age 55 and over that are prone to chronic diseases or have been diagnosed with chronic diseases requiring daily medications. The program aims to help people manage their chronic illnesses earlier and prevent more serious health problems later in life. ADSS is partnering with the Alabama Department of Public Health to achieve this goal.

SenioRx/Wellness is also a prescription drug assistance program that helps thousands of Alabamians receive free prescription drugs from pharmaceutical manufacturers.

To qualify for free prescription drugs, you must be at least 55 years of age with chronic medical conditions, have no prescription drug insurance coverage and your income must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Social Security disabled individuals of ANY age in the 24 month Medicare waiting period are eligible for medication assistance. For more information on social security disability go to www.socialsecurity.gov. Volunteers and local coordinators help seniors apply for drug assistance programs provided by pharmaceutical manufacturers.

The Medicaid Waiver for the Elderly and Disabled (E&D Waiver) Program is designed to provide services to seniors and the disabled whose needs would otherwise require them to live in a nursing home. Our goal is for clients to retain their independence by providing services that allow them to live safely in their own homes and communities they love for as long as it is appropriate.

Case managers work with clients to develop a plan of care based on the clients’ needs and choices. A good care plan is developed only after careful review of a client’s social, recreational, familial, medical, functional, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. Individuals in this program have the freedom to choose from a menu of services that will best meet their needs, including: case management, personal care, homemaker, respite, adult day health, companion services and home delivered frozen meals.

Program Highlights

The E & D Waiver program currently serves approximately 4,250 clients each year, all of whom are nursing home eligible under Medicaid.

E & D Waiver costs the state 18 percent of what nursing home placement would cost for the same number of clients. For example, the average monthly cost per client in fiscal year 2004 was:
$3,652 nursing home client
$669 E&D Waiver client

Had the 4,250 E&D Waiver clients been in nursing homes in 2004, it would have cost the state approximately $152 million more than it cost for the same clients to be served by the E&D Waiver program.

Well for a lot i suppose it is not too happy....Stock market falls,bail out doesn't happen,banks being bought out for unheard of low prices...Depression of 2008 ,here we are.I try really hard to stay optimistic ,no way will i allow negative thoughts to stay too long at a time.You will get depressed that way.Been there ,done that,NO MORE...Not a good way to live.So positive thinking it is.I can be glad now i am in a lower class of living,home paid for,not near as beautiful as some,but it is comfortable,cozy and inviting and i grew up here...so that is good.My kids and grands are in good health as far as i know,that is a blessing within it's self thank
God.What i would really like to see come out of all this is the greed and self righteousness that we have filled America with come out!A lot of people and co.'s have become overly rich at the expense of someone else over the years.Love thy neighbor has become a forgotten rule.Give and it shall be given unto you has become something most laugh at....These rules were put into place for a reason...If you care about each other,we have someone at all times who cares.I don't care who you are ,at one time or another you need someone.Wouldn't it be great if it were like it was years ago?You fell on hard times,neighbors from all around came to help.House burn,neighbors come and you build another one.Need a barn or a shed?Heck they'd come from miles around to help build you one and have a buffet spread out on a table from all the ladies for miles.It turned into a huge party!Everyone gave of themselves for others because they cared and knew if they needed the same thing ,you'd come to them.No one was afraid to leave windows and soors open..If someone passed by at meal time ,you'd invite them in..Now you are scared of them because they are probably there to rob you or worse!Children walked roads and visited each other on bikes,horses or just walking,Now you are afrais to let them because there are so many child molesters... ....What happened here that made us change? The drug-resistant "superbugs" that have cut a swathe through day care centers, schools, locker rooms and prisons across the United States in the last five years stem from one rapidly evolving bacterium, US scientists said Monday.
Scientists studying the genetic make-up of these bugs, which are resistant to almost all antibiotics, say they are nearly identical clones that have emerged from a single bacterial strain, which they have dubbed USA300.

"The USA300 group of strains appears to have extraordinary transmissibility and fitness," said Frank DeLeo, a researcher with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in Hamilton, Montana.

"We anticipate that new USA300 derivatives will emerge within the next several years and that these strains will have a wide range of disease-causing potential."

Most drug-resistant staph infections cause soft-tissue infections such as boils that are readily treatable, but a skin infection can become a deadly pneumonia or blood or bone infection in a matter of days if the patient doesn't get the right drugs.

What's particularly worrying to health authorities is that the MRSA infections, (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) have spread beyond their traditional hospital setting, seeding an epidemic in the wider community.

can this help?i think not..at least unless the stores are willing to cut prices drastically.This will be the only way to stop this recession from happening.If prices fell it would encourage folks to spend more money becuase they could AFFORD TO!OK...let me ask you this scenerio...If you are handed 800.00 today,and you ,the typical person,are watching what is happening all over the place and seeing the stocks free fall today ,as has been for a while now,and see what is loomimg over the hill,Will you rush out and spend this one a new washer,car payment,remodel???NOT IF YOU HAVE ANY SENCE!
No ,this money will be spent on groceries as needed ,or pay bills...Unless you are lucky enough to not be effected by all these being rich!People are getting scared,and they need to be!This is only the beginning...I am afraid i see the depression coming on again.And you know sometimes i think this may be what we all need a dose of.To a lot of people material goods have too long overriden human needs.Do you really need 5 tv sets? 3 cars(new ones at that)?5 bedroom homes for 2 or 3 people??PLEASE! i KNOW PEOPLE WHO OWN 30-40 ACRES OF LAND.How much edible food is planted on it yearly? NONE!!!!!they go buy it ,it is easier they say.Who do you know picks berries or fruit and cans it for their families?Most folks know noone.will this tax incentive save us?????..Will this happen,no!Because greed has eaten america up! For way too long the big guys have eaten up the little one's until there is no more to eat!America has forgotten how to be self reliance. Now america will pay the price as well as other nations attached to us.Just the way it is i am afraid.And for any of you who still think writers like me are doomsdayer's...Google it...See what happened around the world while you slept!Markets crashed all over!And take a look at what happened on wall street this morning...I highly recommend you begin to prepare for this while you can.Protect your family.Begin quickly if you have not already in stockpiling at the very least ,can foods,veggies,meats,etc.If you have land learn how to grow some crops,it really is not hard to do and you will enjoy it.Think about how you would keep your family warm.right now if all power was off and gas cut off.Could you do it?If not you better figur out a plan.There are hundreds of thousands of us already who are prepared or preparing for this.But we can not feed everyone.You better think about when Katrina hit the gulf region.My family was there volunteering.We saw it and thousands more.When this happens,shtf,electricity,gas,water,food ,medical needs,baby food,ALL GONE!!!!!!!!!IMMEDIATLY!!!!if yu wait till it happens ,IT IS TOO LATE PEOPLE.......
your money will soon be worthless to you.If there is no one to buy from,what good is it? While you are preparing stock up on some stuff you can barter with as well.You will also need some kind of protection for your family.Yes i mean guns!If you are one of the smart one's ,every one else who is not will be trying to take your stuff.Will no longer be out of greed,but survival!So you better be prepared to defend yourselves or be killed.I hate to stroke the scary clock but it is already ticking.I pray dayly for better things here in america and protection over my family and loved ones.I know god is full of grace and love for his children ...He is also gracious in giving us knowledge and an inner prompting to let us know when something is about to happen!Don't you feel it???change is coming reader's ,AND IT IS COMING QUICKLY!!!!!iPRAY WE WILL ALL BE PREPARED....
